First announcement about the conference

From June 7 to 9, 2024, the Department of History is organizing an international scholarly conference "Urban vs. Rural: Space, Evolution, and Transformation" of the International Centre for Studies on History and Archaeology of the Adriatic  – CISA 

The lead theme of the conference is the relationship between urban and rural, i.e., the relationship between what is in the city and what is outside it during the last millennium BCE and the first millennium CE, and its complexity encompasses a wide range of research topics, such as, for example, urban development, rural population, the relationship between urban and rural environments, necropolises and burials, architecture and art, roads and communications, economic activities in urban and/or rural (non-urban) areas, demographic research and the like. Prominent scientists from Croatia, France, Italy, Slovenia, Montenegro and Albania participate in it.
The conference will be held in the premises of the University of Zadar, namely in the SEP building (Šime Vitasovića 1) and at the Great Hall of the Department of History (Ruđera Boškovića 5).
